Treadle Sewing Machines

I have two treadle sewing machines. I'd like to put on Craigslist. One is a Montgomery Ward "residential" unit in a beautiful cabinet, and the othe is a Singer (model 294) upholstery machine. Both are complete. What price would you put on them?

Thanks,

Get on Ebay and search the completed listings. That'll give you a start. Around here the Amish and antique dealers would be fighting over them.

Depends....The Amish we live near MIGHT be interested in the Singer, but usually, that model will go only to someone who has a "harness" shop.
The Wards one, most of them would not want, due to parts availability.
My BIL buys/sells/collects those older machines. Most of the ones like you have don't bring a lot....$40-$50.

The "house" models are the ones they "fight" over.....

On Ebay you can search sold and completed listing to find out what those models have been sold for in the past.

For big items that are hard to ship, Craigs List can work better than Ebay. If you live in the sticks like I do, you may have to price it attactively or advertise it very well to get someone to drive over 30 miles to look at an item.

Good luck.
