Thanks for the reply "old". According to what I seen when looking at the tractor, I didn't notice anything in the oil and no oil was evident in the radiator. There was no white smoke in the exhaust like when coolant enters the combustion chamber. The fan belt seemed ok. In your opinion, would this tractor be worth $1200.00? It has a loader and a dirt and snow bucket that comes with it. It has been converted over to 12 volts. The rubber is very good all around. I welcome your opinions.

Well with good tires that brings up the price a bit. Figure new tires for it would cost you $800 plus now days. That said I have seen them sell for as little as $750 at auction I know I payed that for the WD45 I have and I have also seen a WD sell at auction for $2500. Here in Missouri the WD and WD45 seem to sell well

That is kind of full market value on them around here. I think with the overheating issue it is too high a price. A good running , no issue WD-45 will hardly break $1000 around here. North-East Iowa.

Thanks JD. That is good to know. That will help with the bartering process. What is a fair price to offer?

A lot depends on how mechanical you are. If you are looking for trouble free ease and reliability then this 50+ year old tractor is not for you.

That said, if the rear tires are in like-new condition, the engine block is not cracked, and (assumed somewhat modern) loader is not damaged/extensively welded, you really can't go wrong at $1,200. But I'd still start negotiating at $900.....
