I have a side by side that has several fasteners that are metric torx head screws with the bit requiring a center hole. Have not been able to find this style bit. Anyone got information on a source???

Those torx are called "tamper proof." You should be able to get them anywhere that sells regular torx bits. I bought mine at a flea market. Harbor Freight also has them.
Good Luck and God Bless

EVERY auto parts store sells them. In fact, the so-called "tamper resistant" bits are so common that they've since come up with a new design and are trying to limit the availability of them.

I have a LISLE set of "Master tamper resistant Torx Bit Set" Cat # 26530 right here in front of me. I bought them at Sears last week. They go from T10 to T56. I think the local Napa carries Lisle products. They cost me $27.99 plus tax.
Ten torx bits and 2 bit holders

Do they make a size smaller than 8? My Gerber knife has teeny torx screws in it , they are coming loose and 8 is too big.

Harbor Freight has sets of security bits. I also bought a set of security bits at Lowes.

I've run into a few things that have security screws, so handy to have a set that will cover most needs.
