How would a Homelite Super 2 engine come apart to hone the cylinder and put new rings ?

I would guess the head and the jug comes off the top end,, or the case has to split in half to get the rod & piston out of the jug.

Anybody out there have drawings, parts books, or teardown procedures ?

Case splits at the crankshaft. Four bolts i think. Crank rod and piston then can be pulled from cylinder. That is a chrome cylinder, dont try to hone it. If it is clean, put in new ring and reassemble. If galled, scored or built up with aluminum from the piston clean with fine sand paper in a side to side motion not up and down. If the chrome plating is worn thru in any place scrap it and start over.
