Fan quit on my tombstone welder Friday. Took the covers off found a dirt dauber nest had fallen and locked the fan down. No problem fixing that. Blew all the spider webs out and took the fan motor apart and cleaned it and oiled the bearings. Put it back together and runs great.
Now the question. I noticed the fan pulls the air up and out the vents on the sides and back. For some reason, I thought it blew down toward the transformer. Which is correct?
I got this new in 1977 and it has been a great welder all these years with LOTS of use. I just never paid attention to which way the fan blows.
