Some time ago I bought a Husqvarna blower/vac, thinking I could use it to vacuum my concrete shop floor, rather than sweeping.(I have a 40x72 shop).
It"s been suggested that I use the blower end instead, and blow the dirt and debris out the door. Has anyone ever done this? And how did it turn out?
Thanks.

I use a leaf blower to clean out the shop and the concrete pad in front of it all of the time. I usually sweep the big chunks up and then blow the rest out the door. You need to keep in mind which way the wind is blowing. LOL If it is away from or even across your garage door it works well. If the wind is blowing toward the door at all it is a no go. It will just makes a big mess.

Also the vac side of a leaf blower/vac is not worth a darn for what you want to use it for. The vac part will work but the bag is not like your house sweeper that filters all of the dust out. You get a fair amount of dust through the bag which makes it use inside a problem. It is made to vac out eve troughs and that type of thing out side.

Back in the 1960's, I had a dealer that had an old wooden building with a wood floor. He cleaned the shop once a year on New Year's Day. He took a B10 with a blade on it and drove around in the shop to smooth the grease and accumulated oil on the floor - and also threw out the cardboard that had piled up all year.

I have no idea how thick the oil & grease was on that wood plank floor, but that would have made a really hot fire if it ever got started.

Also works really well on yellow jacket nests :^)

Why would someone blow it out the door? Next time you come in you will track it back in.
I would vac it up and be done with it.

I use furnace blowers on wheels and a leaf blower to clean off the benches. Wear a resperator. My last blower is a 220v 3/4 hp. Wow, what a blast.

I use more than one blower to set up air currents, air in and air out.
