Goodmorning everyone!! Here's a little video I put together
recently, about common problems that people have when they
first MIG weld, what causes them, and how to solve them...

This video covers:

-Travel Speed (Too fast, and Too slow)
-Setting Wire-Feed Speed (Too Much wire... And Not Enough)
-Too Much and Too Little Stick-Out
-Wrong Polarity
-Shielding Gas Issues
-Welding Too Hot & Too Cold

Hope it helps... Enjoy the video, and have an great weekend
everyone :)

enjoyed it Lanse, you are learning a lot, and sharing it, way to go. Hope school at Hobart is going well also, you have a bright future

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I like your enthusiasm. I have been trying to teach myself to weld. with my small Hobart. Maybe I'll get there someday. Your video was well done and informative.

Thanks for posting this! I had a cuss fight just yesterday with my Hobart 180 on a Wood's mower deck.
I rarely MIG so much of what I learn I seem to forget between outings. I usually TIG but on things like a cracked mower deck TIG isn't practical.
Even an old dog can learn something new!
