Well as for the recoil can not say if you can compare it to a shotgun but. For every reaction there is an opposite and equal reaction so when you pull the trigger you release that high pressure air so you get a recoil. As for what guns well here in Missouri you can legally hunt deer with an air rifle that is charged by an external source of air and is 40 cal or larger.

Old who makes a .40 cal. air rifle ? I have access to list of air rifle manufactures (foreign and domestic) and no body list a .40 cal. or larger air rifle for sale.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see Sam Yang does. Three calibers in three models:

Recluse - .357 caliber 983 fps @ 154 ft/lbs

Big Bore 44 - .45 caliber 730 fps @ 237 ft/lbs

Dragon Claw-.50 caliber 679 fps @ 230 ft/lbs

You use a hand pump to take them to 3000 psi.

They're illegal in the birth state of Wyatt Earp (Illinois)

I have no idea who makes one that big I just know what the Hunting regs say and that is in the book they print out each year for deer hunting. So all I am doing is passing on what the MO law is about deer hunting and an air gun

Thanks for the site. I watched several of them on there.None were made by Crossman but by Sam Yang. Nice looking rifles and about the same price as a cartrige load rifle. It said you get up to 16 shoots from 1 load. The only trouble with site was Bloombergs ant-gun vote kept poping up.
