Something has happened to my TA. Sometimes when using it in low side, it will shift to high side with lever still pulled back in low side. It will shift real smooth just like a automatic transmission in a automobile. Has me scratching my head.

Three possibilities, failing planetery unit, misadjusted ta, no clearane on release bearing or what I have seen happen is the slip coupler that connects shaft from clutch to the input of ta has worked it's way back and push's ta 7 inch dry clutch disk back forcing it against carrier and thus driving carrier. There is supposed to be a snap ring in the coupler that will not allow that to happen but a badly worn splined shaft can upset tht snap ring or the ring may have been left out. Original older tractors did not have that snap ring and they would burn that ta clutch to a frazzle while using low range. One of my very early lessons in TA repair on a 400 farmall.
