OT Barn siding

I have a 32x50 barn(2-1/2 story) that needs painting, wood is solid. I don't want to paint as I am getting too old. I would like to do vertical siding with corner trim. Any suggestions, vinyl, aluminum, steel or whatever. What are drawbacks.

Paying somebody to paint it would be a lot cheaper than any maintenance free siding option.

If you are dead against that route I would go with steel.

We had ours sided with steel 21 years ago. So far it still looks great, has endured hail that cracked 4" wood siding, and we have not had to do any maintenance to it. Steel also makes the structure more solid. The only thing we don't like about it is we have the barn full of livestock and the siding prevents the barn from breathing like before. It is more humid inside and some sort of added ventilation is needed. In spite of the high upfront cost, it will last longer than several paint jobs.
