Lincoln welder questions

Ok so I have this old Lincoln welder that was given to me some 20 plus years ago. The guy was a good friend of mine but died of cancer from being in Vietnam.
So the questions is what HP is the engine and what info can you guys give me as for the model of the welder.
Engine is a 2 cylinder Onan Model CCKA-S16276 hand start.
Welder is a Lincoln Model DC-225/3AS
By the way this thing starts pretty much one of 2 pulls no matter how long it has sat
Thanks

Old,
What you seem to have is a Lincoln Lincwelder. I have the same machine, pretty decent old welder. Only things to know is that they are 50hz 110v power, not 60hz, so will damage motors if used to power them.
Rated engine speed, for this application is 3000 rpm.
Many parts for the welder and some of the engine stuff is obsolete.
Place called Stumpfs Welding still has parts.

Thanks. Any idea about what year this thing is??I am thinking late 60s maybe early 70s

Let me chime in here. I've been working at Lincoln near 40 yrs. Is it the Lincwelder 225? Those were very good machines. They were made along with the Weldanpower 225 which used Wisconsin TJD or THDs and 18hp. I don't recall the hp of the Onan but it's probably about the same. The Lincwelder was a DC generator with AC aux. power. The other was an AC welder and more of a generator than welder. Stick with it if you do any amount of stick welding.

Maybe what you say but it is dark out and raining so guess I will not go look right now. I do know 2 people will not pick it up and set it in a truck unless you do it the way I do but I cheat. Been a good old machine and has been used to build most of my steel buildings over the past 20 plus years.

I have used drills and grinders with it and never had any problems but then I do not use them for long term stuff

I worked on one for an old fellow about 12 years ago that had the CCK Onan. Even back then the mjority of hard parts for it weren't available anymore, and those that were were all but gold plated when it came to price. One thing about his, that you said your's doesn't have, is that the generator end worked as a motor/generator for starting. Once we got the cracked/busted flywheel back together it ran like a top. One thing about Onans' when they are running they are great, when they are broke, they are BROKE, and EXPENSIVE..... Glad to hear your's is in such good shape.

They were made into the 70's, maybe even the 80's. The generator has a round cap on the end similar to the more common SA 200 water cooled machines on the back of 100's of trucks? Look for a manual on the Lincoln site. Just about everything Lincoln ever made has a manual listed.
