The problem is in use of these axles in a triple application. I did a lot of research, called a bunch of companies, talked to experts. There is a reason Dexter does not warranty their axles in tri-axle applications. There is no transfer of weight from one axle to the other, hence, with use, one or more axles will bear almost all of the weight and the arms will bend. This has happened to me even though on the Cat Scale my rig is not overloaded. I have Al-Ko axles..now on my THIRD set. The first were 7000# axles which came with my trailer in 2005. Al-Ko replaced them under warranty in 2007. I got a replacement set of axles (same weight rating) and two years later I am again blowing tires and losing wheels. I finally did an analysis: ALL six wheels were wearing on the INSIDE (not easy to see or feel until the wear is bad enough). This is called negative camber. It was caused by the continued bouncing down the road and it took about 25,000 miles for the problem to show itself in a manner I could measure. I contacted Al-Ko again, but this time I was unwilling to accept another set of 7000# axles. I bought the 8000# set and had them installed (all at my expense). Al-Ko, this time, refused to honor the warranty saying I had to have overloaded the axles since the arms were bent (same problem as the first set, by they gave no explanation at the time simply stating they were defective.) Dexter is the ONLY place I found that actually states they will not warranty tri-axle applications and said why.
