If the motor is any good its worth $100! I just got new bearings for my 40 year old Delta today, $10.50 for both. Bearings will always be available, the fence might be a problem.

Hey Russ.

The cutterhead turns with some resistance and I sprayed some penetrating oil on the outside of the bearings.

The motor runs and I am inclined to make a temporary mount and spin the cutterhead up and see what happens.

Any thoughts?

Brad

I would replace the bearings, if they damage the shaft or the housings it could be expensive! Mine is only a 4 1/2" Delta but its a good old all cast iron one. It started sounding funny the other day in the middle of a job and when I took it apart one bearing felt pretty bad. I took one shield out of it and put some grease in it to finish the job. I could of gotten china bearings for $1 but it would of taken 3 weeks, NAPA got them for me in 1 day and it was $10.50, I'm sure these are china bearings too but what are you going to do!
