When I was a kid, we had this old kerosene fueled weed burning torch. Had a red handle that was also the fuel tank, with a pressure pump like a Coleman lantern on the end. You pumped it up and lit it, and once the preheat coils were warm, opened the valve to get it burning full force.
Always seemed kinda dangerous, but used it for various things with no problems. Would like to find one back, ours sold on farm sale years ago, and I can't remember the brand name anymore. Just want it for a wall hanger.
Anyone remember these?[/quote] |

| | When I was a teenager a couple buddies and I found stumbled over a fully-fueled burner left in the weeds along a rural stretch of railroad - I presume by a RR MOW (maintenance) gang Being kids we just HAD to fire it up! We played with it a while and burned a whole bunch of weeds in the process. However we somehow managed not to damage any RR property or ourselves. |

| I remember surplus flame throwers used for that when I was a kid. |
