Oil less compressor

I repairing the pump on a Senco oil less compressor. Should I use some kind of gasket sealer on the gasket between the head and valve plate and valve plate to cylinder or leave them dry?

If it is a paper gasket then just work a little oil into it. Just a few drops massaged in with your fingers is all it takes to soften the paper. If it is a composite type just install it dry. Any type of sealer may get into the compressor.

Thanks JD. One other thing, I'm replacing the piston because the paper ring, or whatever it's made out of is worn and there's no part # for it. Do I lube it? I cleaned the cylinder wall with 100% alchol.
