Question for slowpoke

CAROGATOR

I saw in the archives that you once had a Holdem 502 fence charger. I just got a used one and it clicks or snaps at the box, sort of like a circuit breaker cycling, and the current checker shows a pattern of the same type in the wire. Does this sound normal, or do I have a problem? Thanks for any help. Anyone else have any ideas?

sounds normal to me - is there a problem? is it not zapping?

I test with a blade of grass, even dead grass if it's short enough.

The trick with any charge is having a good ground.

Many skimp there thinking it's not all that important. But the better the ground, the better the zap.

You need at least one six food copper rod driven into the ground. Probably more if the soil's dry/sandy.

Thank you, that is what it is doing, clicking about once a second. the light must be burned out as it has not been on since I got it.
