Trailblazers "check engine light" came on, but it's running fine. Put the code scanner on it and it said "no codes found" Any thoughts about this?? It's a 4.2 - V6.....

Do you have a scanner or code reader? If you have a scanner, go in to the history code function, and see if it is stored in there. If not, clear the codes and see if it returns.

Ray,
I"ve used my code scanner for several years on different makes and models. It usually works on Chevrolets and Fords. But just yesterday, my son came by with his "07 Mercury with its check engine light on. The scanner showed the flashing 8"s. I read in the troubleshooting section of the manual that not all cars can be scanned, even though they have a compatible port.

Was the light on after the test for the DTC? If it was, your code reader may be the issue. If not, the PCM might have turned off the light due to global good trips. That means you may have to wait for the area to act up again. Gerard

I have had 3 check engine lights over the years
and all 3 were gas cap related. All 3 were
different GM vehicles.
