Wife out of town just bought south bend lathe, it is a CL 145 C and says bed 6, what size would this be a 13 x ?? The serial # looks like 12921 TKX any idea what year ? The flat belt is broke but it came with a new one that looks like you glue it together, is this a hard task and are manuals still available?

Check out the link below. You can order the build sheet from South Bend that will give you the year of mfg, etc about your lathe. Too there is a board on the Practical Machinist site dedicated to the South Bends. Too, just do a search and you'll be amazed at the amount of info you can find in regard to these old machines. Good luck, and enjoy your new toy.
South Bend lathe

I have a South Bend 10'' x 48'' it's a good machine just wish I had the taper attachment for it haven't been able to find one yet. I use the old style belt lacing on the belt on mine never thought gluing it together. Between it and my old Atlas mill I have made quiet a few parts. These machines are not state of the art but they work pretty well for what most of us do with them. I have access to large modern machine shop if it gets to involved. I have found a few parts like different chucks and other small parts at swap meets so keep an I out for them
