I have been reading a lot on here about pressure washers. I am going to be looking for one this spring. I have a pretty good idea from all the I have read, you all have shared some good points to use when I go shopping for a washer. I guess my only question I have is, can I use hot water, 120 degrees or even warm water, 90-100 degrees, in a gas powered pressure washer? I don't have the pocketbook for a steam cleaner, but I was hoping to find a good gas powered pressure washer to use to clean my tractors. |

| I just bought a new one. Most cold water units will only take 130-140 degree water. There are a few that can be special ordered to take hotter. Check with the manufacturer to be sure. |

| | Buy a Hotsy and don't look back. Best thing I ever did. I see some used ones reasonable for sale. I had some other ones with piston pumps and I could run hot water from the house hot water tank just fine,BUT you run out too fast. I bought an old steam jenny and restored it. They work good for some things, but I would not recommend buying a steam cleaner for all around use. Too easy to lift off paint with them. |

| Mine will go into a bypass mode or loose pressure if the water gets warm. Even starting out with a hose that has been laying in the afternoon sun will cause it to kick out. As soon as cold water gets run through it it will make pressure again. |

| We had a cheap Karcher(sp)and I would hook it up to hot water, the problem was the hot water would blow out the seals on the wand. Most pumps will tell you the input water temperature rating. |
