Monroe struts

I have a 1981 Mercury Cougar and I replaced the struts and shocks in 1994. The original auto parts store went out of business not long after that. None of the local auto parts store would replace the struts or shocks. I called Monroe
and they told me to fax a copy of the old receipt. About 10 days later I received new Sensatrac struts and shocks.

I've already installed the shocks and will do the struts when the weather gets warmer. They require more work as you need to remove the brake caliphers and rotors just to reach the retaining bolts on the struts. Here's a copy of the old receipt and a picture of the new strut. They're very heavy. Hal

Yep got to love them life time warranties. I almost never buy a part that does not come with a life time warranty and boy has it saved me some $$ over the years

I can only wish I was as organised as you and Old. I manage to lose receipts between the store and my truck sitting in the parking lot, LOL

That is why I have a dealer account at my local O'Reilly's. I do not have to save the receipt it is in the computer so if I bring something in and it matches what I have gotten n the past they hand me a new one for nothing but my time
