I shot a little video of our Johnson Sickle Servicer removing and replacing the knife sections.

How much does it cost you to put all new sections on a 7 foot bar, including the rivets? And how many minutes/hours spent?

I wanted one of those from the time I learned about them, when I was in my early twenties. They were always too expensive, or I had more urgent things to do with my money.

When I was in my early fifties, I spotted one in a pile of junk in a decrepit two wheel trailer at a farm auction. The auctioneer couldn't get a bid on the wagon, and passed over it. After the auction was over, I approached him and told Him that I still wouldn't take the junkpile off his hands, but I would give him something for the sickle servicer. He said how about two bucks? YES!!

It took me a couple hours to get the thing freed up so it would work, and I had to buy a new punch for it. That was $7, and another $10 shipping, still worth it.

1) Its been several years since we needed to buy knife section and rivet so I don't know what they go for now.

2) I have never timed how long it takes to do a sickle bar, but would guess 1/2 an hour to an hour.
