Hello GordoSD, Are you saying that the rod lost all of its abrasives propeties? You may have taken all of it off while cleaning it. Some cheap steels are actually grouved the lengnt of the shaft, and are much courser than the smooth steel. If you want a cheap finishing sharpener, go to your local marble dealer and get yourself a piece from the scrap pile. I'm sure they will let you have a piece, if you ask them. Marble is a close grain and makes an excellent final touch on a blade. Even a piece of granite may work, altough i have not tryed it. Use it wet or dry your choice! Guido. |

| I wa asking about ceramic rod sharpeners. They are not sold with any "grit" ratings on them. Are they all 1200 or the same grit? |
