I wanted one of those from the time I learned about them, when I was in my early twenties. They were always too expensive, or I had more urgent things to do with my money.
When I was in my early fifties, I spotted one in a pile of junk in a decrepit two wheel trailer at a farm auction. The auctioneer couldn't get a bid on the wagon, and passed over it. After the auction was over, I approached him and told Him that I still wouldn't take the junkpile off his hands, but I would give him something for the sickle servicer. He said how about two bucks? YES!!
It took me a couple hours to get the thing freed up so it would work, and I had to buy a new punch for it. That was $7, and another $10 shipping, still worth it.

Here is video of the newer style Johnson sickle servicer being used. The two machines do much the same thing. The newer one uses a better compound linkage to create the force. The newer one worked with less arm power.
