J B weld-will it work?

I have an air compressor that my cat knocked a tool box off the shelf and hit the compressor and sheared off the nipple that the regulator was screwed onto. I got the nipple stud out and replaced but where it threads in the aluminum casting cracked and a small chunk came off and it leaks air. Have not found a replacement part, can I reattach the piece with J B Weld and will it hold good enough? I never used it before.

Ya I think it should work, just make sure there's no oil on it, it doesn't stick if there's any gas or oil or anything, but if you have it clean, it should work, I've always had good luck, I repaired a dirtbike crankcase before that was cracked, its still holding and doesn't leak oil

If it doesn't hold will parts come flying out in such a way as to present a safety hazard? Worth considering. Have had mixed results with JB Weld - some good, some not.

As long as the threads are still good enough to hold it tight it will work. JB was the only thing I could stop a seeping hydraulic fitting with.

I think it needs another mounting plate welded to the old one. I would be afraid it would blow out mounting it with JB Weld.
