Hello.

I am referencing your reply to my thread on bag closers.

You mentioned moving corn with a vacuum system. I am interested because I find that every time the corn is augered you end up with more fines which cause problems with corn burners.

I have been buying corn from a dealer which allows me to check the corn on the truck from the dryer and loads directly into my gravity wagon.

I would like any info that you might have on the vac systems. Seems that one might design it so that the fines might be removed at the same time that the corn is moved.

Thanks in advance,

Brad

google something like "shop vac corn airlock" and here is a site I found in doing just that www.cornvac.com

Try going to I Burn Corn a website for different corn stoves and ideas for removing fines etc.
You can make a vac moving system using a 6 1/2 hp vacum from either sears or rigid. You can either make or buy a attachment that will remove fines and dust from the corn as it travels through the hoses etc.
Or sometimes you can buy a vac system from a farmer that used it for filling the planter. Nowadays it would be to slow but for a corn stove system it would work fine.
I bought a cleaner that fit in the hose system but never used it as I switched to pellets. I could take a picture and send it via e-mail if you are interested.
