Stihl 025 Saw

I have an older (17 years) Stihl that has always started fine and done a ton of cutting. The last two times out it will start fine, idles fine but would die when I gasses it. The air filter is clean and it has a pretty new plug. It did this yesterday, I cleaned the carb area off with carb cleaner, and blew any built up crud off with air gun. It then ran fine for the rest of the day. Today it started out fine but is doing the same thing again. It acts like it floods as soon as you squeeze the throttle and dies. But will start right back up and idle as long as I let it. Photos are what I cut with it yesterday After it acted up the first time. Thanks for any ideas on what to address.

I would replace the fuel line. That may not be the problem but they are pretty cheap to buy and they do tend to deteriorate.

Have you changed the fuel filter in fuel tank ?You could run some Sea Foam through it the jets might be getting dirty.

Saw is not flooding it is leaning out. Could be several things, rotted lines, crud in crab, bad gaskets or diaphragm in carb, crab boot, carb loose.
Dont run it any more until it is fixed or youll be in for a piston and cylinder too.

Thanks guys, I will start with a new fuel filter and gas line. Bill it is red oak, pretty common here in VA and I had several blow down in the Sandy storm. The photo doesn"t show the size but these logs are about two feet in diameter. Each block weighs about 100+ pounds
