Identification of a Tap

There is a tap at work. Size is marked 1/2 X 14. NPSF. I am thinking NPS is national pipe Straight, but what does the F designate? Thanks for all replies.

It is fuel, this is an interferance thread, where the root and crown of the thread hit each other when the nipple is screwed into the coupling. Supposed to eliminate leaks, but it doesn't work as well as advertised.

That tap would normally be for a straight thread used for hydraulic connectors that use an O ring seal under a jam type nut. I have always took the F to mean fine thread. I see it does stand for fuel.
