Cold weather outer clothes

I will be in the market for a replacement to my 1-piece insulated coveralls. Was thinking about getting a 2-piece this time. I like the 1-piece cuz no drafts, but its been a pain to get on lately, at times don't need the pants. I do alot on the weekends, most of it outside or in an unheated pole barn. Im thinking this is like "what's your favorite car" kinda thing, figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks much...don t. ....

Hard to beat Dickies or Carhart. I did buy a 5.11 Tactical jacket this winter and really like it as well. Been kinda keeping it for my good jacket so really have not rolled around on the ground in it much, yet anyway.I figure if the cops wear them for work they a probably pretty good. Seems to be so far. Very weather / water resistant and looks good too.

I like the bibs. I can wear different coats as the jobs or weather changes. I just can not get in and out of the old coveralls like I once did.

I have a pair of insulated olive drab coveralls used by the Air Force . They have suspenders and are easy to get into. I also have the insulated jacket. Paid $30.00 for the set. Hal

I have Carharrt arctic extreme bib overall and a coat. I have had the overalls for 11 years and the coat for 10 and they still are just like new when I wash them. I wear them in the tractor shed, crawling under vehicles and mobile homes and working at the sawmill. They are made from a very tough nylon that does not snag on things or wear through from abrasion, at least not yet. I did have to have a new zipper put in the coat this year. I would never have thought they would last this long with the use I put them to, but they have.

I've given up on Carhartt, Walls, etc for winter coats. I buy $17.00 military surplus coats that last longer, are warmer and cost a lot less. I'm still wearing Walls bibs my wife bought me, but there are surplus bibs for around $15.00 that I'd prefer to buy if it were my money.

Don,
I have artic Carhartts. Got them at Rural King. Like the fact they have zippers down both lets. Got them extra long so when I'm sitting on a tractor my legs are covered. They were good for cold weather riding on my Goldwing. No longer have the wing.

That said, I like layers of clothes better. It may be freezing in the morning. As the day goes buy, I'm removing layers to keep from sweating. Then I have a cab full of clothes.

I prefer insulated bibs, an insulated hood and insulated flannel shirt. then add different coats depending on wind and how cold

I have gone to bibs and a coat, you can match the coat to the weather. More comfort, so Ihave never looked back !!!!!!!!

Start out with flannel lined jeans. Full Blue is starting to market them at half the price of Carhartts. Then plain light coveralls will do the job for the legs unless you're standing outside doing nothing like you do at a farm sale. In the winter all of my unlined jeans go to the basement until spring rolls around. Jim

Most days I wear a hooded sweatshirt over a sweatshirt and a pair of plain blue jeans. I don't spend the whole day outside. Warm boots and gloves are a bigger problem.

That's how I roll. Hooded sweatshirt, zip up hooded sweatshirt, then a coat. Two hoods sure do seal up your neck good. Some people get a good chuckle when you are wearing three hoods, but the joke is on them. I am plenty warm.

Toughduck coveralls and a toughduck type coat over top. Wear both on really cold days, just the tough ducks on an everage winter day, and just the coat on the warmer days.
