Hello,

I was just given the beast in the pics.
I guess it will be a project. I do think it will need a lot of TLC. It is a 9000 watts unit 18 H.P. B&S V twin and pretty heavy.Axle and tires where knocked out of it, no air cleaner element, but the rest is there I think. Got a plastic bag full of nuts and bolts. A winter project for sure.

i'd like to find one like that, take the engine off and mount the generator on a tractor running off the belt pulley. be handy as a pocket on a shirt!!

Hello gleenster,

Are you behaving? This one found me.I really don't need it, just something to tinker with.
I was originally going to fix it. The guy that owned it said I can have it, too much appears to be wrong with it. I know it looks bad, but maybe it is not hurt to bad.

Hangin in there, bored to death , stuck in the house. Swmbo may take me on a field trip tomorrow for a little while out to the shop!!!! Be good to see everybody there, maybe even sit at my desk for a little bit!!!!!!

Wow , Guido , seems you know the rite guys . I"d love to have even a project near that one , given to me . I need one for my barn & outside sheds , but getting one with 220 available is wayyyy out of my financial ability . Found a couple smaller ones with only 110 , but i need 220 instead for my welder . Set poles for an overhead feeder from my garage before my health got worse , but it seems I"d have to take out a bank loan just to buy all the #2 triplex I need to get from the garage to my barn . Plus having to pay someone to climb (since I can"t anymore) in order to attach the cables to the poles & barn is asstranomical . I sure didn"t get those kind of wages when I was doing electrical work . I had taught my son in law the elctrical business , but he"s afraid to climb the poles . What"s wrong with the young guys of today ? It seems they just don"t care to help us old people when we get down & out . Good luck with that project & keep us posted . If you don"t wanta tackle it & ya wanna send it my way , I won"t be offended at all .God bless , Ken

Hello gleenster,

I'm glade you are doing fine, I have been through it twice. So just do what your body is letting you do, you'll be your own self in no time. Remember what does not kill you, makes you stronger. Had a friend go to the er with chest pains,he did not make it. So I consider myself lucky to be around. Hopefully it shows in all I do.

Hello Ken-PA,
How close are you the the autoshow in PHILA.
I was there yesterday to see the new things. Like you said though, prices are way out of hand.61K for a pick up and its gas. Anyhow, I have been known to give things away. From weed wackers to chain saws. This beast is way to big for me. But, when I give things away, I usually do that when they are up to speed. I will certainly keep you posted. Way to cold to be in the garage now!.

Guido.

Hi Guido , yes I'm about 2 hrs from Philadelphia, Pa . Its miserably cold here in Franklin, Pa. 16323 also . I went outside to feed my chickens today & was planning on doing some running around paying bills , but decided to get thawed out & stay inside . Its in the negative degrees here today with winds . I appreciate you keeping me in mind for future stuff . Not many in this area do much with restoring things , but still I never seem to be in the rite place to pick up throw aways when it happens . A couple yrs ago I did find a discarded old round BBQ grill made years ago of 1/4" heavy steel . So I built a nice forge out of it .So , I lucked out that day . Also one day at a guys house who was a refuse collector , I saw an old large anvil laying outside his house . Asked him how much . I got it for $25.00 . It needed a lot of building up with DC 1/4" 7018 welding rod to get it back to its original glory . It turned out nicely , & I've done some heavy forming on the welded areas with no failures to this day . So, I have had a couple good throwaways . So , thanks again for thinking of me . Maybe next time to Philly , you can contact me . My email is [email protected] if interested .later my friend , God bless, Ken

Hello Ken-PA,

I have been doing a lot of bartering so maybe that would be the way to go.
I will keep you in mind, when I get the beast running. Will contact you by e-mail... stay warm

Guido.

Bbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr , warm ? Rite ! Can"t wait for spring . It seems the older I get , the less I can take the CCcold & HHhott temps . I even find I need to use a blanket at nite now .By the way , where do you live ? God bless , Ken

Heck no , I was just saying about 2 hrs because someone told me that . I have no idea as to how or how long to drive there . A lot of Sheriffs transport vans come to Franklin courthouse transferring juvies to a locl juvie correctional farm . Its called Vision Quest . Ever since it was started this area has had a lot of home invasions , stealing guns, money, & cars . Years ago 2 of them broke into my garage , caused alot of damage trying to steal our car , My X wife barged in on them & cALLED FOR HELP IN TIME FOR ONE ARREST . I"m glad she wasan"t hurt . Boy I never thought my marriage & life would end like it did in 2000 . I would give anything to have her back . But my kids would never help me out by coaxing her to get help . So my life has downhill ever since . My kids won"t come & visit me at all . It depresses me to think about it so I"m done .God bless , Ken
