I am guessing about 30 degrees btdc. I know how to check and adjust everything but I can"t find this spec. Thank You [Reply]   [No Email]

To get the most power out of your engine do the following. When all the rest of the adjustments have been done,valves, plugs, carburetor, manifold leak test. Start and run the engine to normal operating temperatue, hook up a vacuum gauge in the intake manifold. Before you start the engine loosen the distributor so as you can move it. Keep the hold down tight enough , so it won't turn on its own. Start the engine and set the idle about 1000 R.P.M.'s. While looking the vacuum gauge, turn the distributor until you get the maximum pressure on the gauge. This is where the engine will produce the most power. Don't forget to tighten the distributor when you shut down the engine,set the idle down before you do that also. Good Luck...................Guido.   [Reply]  [No Email]

On older all fuel tractors they often (on distillate) ran 30 BTDC but thats a bit fast for gasoline in my opinion... John T   [Reply]  [No Email]
