Tire Changer - May Brothers brand/mfr ?

Well, I recently picked up this old tire changer, it looks just like the manual ones you see on ebay, that are usually painted red. This does have a Schrader valve on top, and I am not sure what is powered by air, it looks like it has an air cylinder that operates a bead breaker. I tried to see if I could find any information on it, by searching the web, no luck, anyone know about these, any dangers or safety issues with using one ? I don't plan to use it or try it until I figure out how it works anyway, I had bought a Kohler K321S from a young farmer, which he recieved in a lot he bought, has no use for it, tire changer and other things, for the price I could not go wrong.

I have an air electric may machine, it is a good machine. If yours looks like the old coats 50 style machines, the air cyliiner breaks the bottom bead, then you need to flip the tire over to berak the other side. Once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty fast.

I have the same one. I't makes breaking and remounting of the front tires a lot easier. Both cylinders are air operated. The bead breaker works well but keep the breaker as straight up and down as possible. Remove the collar by aligning the tabs with the collar's slots, mount the tire and position the rim's stud hole over the spring loaded pin, replace the collar which holds the tire in place then you add air to the schrader valve on top. The other valve releases the air when finished.

As with any machine, watch for pinch points.

My cylinders use leather packing.
