Hello George Marsh,
I found the amp meter from that old charger.
I used it to make an IN and OUT box in the picture. I used it many moons ago when RC racing with NiCads. I konw you don't like them, that is all we had! If you look at the other meter, it is an amp meter from an old refer unit.
Yes I like to reuse and recycle when ever the chance comes along.

Guido.
Columbus had one like that on the Mayflower. He used a wind generator to charge up his lithium cell phone batteries. The meter would tell him when the batteries were fully charged.

I too like finding a second use for many things. As soon as I get rid of something, I'll need it.

I have an old ammeter like the one on the left. I have 2 wires connected to it with ends that look like the ends of a large flat car fuse. When there is a short, I install the ammeter in place of the fuse. Helps find the shorts that way.

thanks for sharing.
George

did not columbus also have a paddel wheel on the rear to generate power. This is where the actual and true fact of a fifth wheel and generator mounted via the recever hitch will power batteries providing endless range for electric autos

Bill, I think he had both baddle and 5th wheel.

Did you get a chance to charge your two 8v batteries using the 12 and 6 volt charger?
George

George I have nor tried yet going to try just 12 volt charger first to measure voltage when charger stops thanks bill
