I guess I am old fashioned but I still use a cell phone just for phone. In the field, I have my parts books in the truck if needed and the phone numbers for dealers is on my phone. It seems now there are a million new versions that do everything. What do you use, and why did you choose that particular model/version?

I have an iphone 4s, and I love it.

I rarely use it as a phone, but I text a lot with it, use its camera all the time (It holds thousands of VERY good quality pictures), plus use it to keep up with whatever YouTube video I just uploaded, or forum post I just made. Even check the weather on it...

Common, ordinary cell phone that folds up and fits easily my pocket. Occasionally I use the camera feature. I did not and will not pay extra for the texting service. It has the ability to recieve text messages, but if anyone sends me a text message, I will delete it without reading it. If anyone wishes to communicate with me, just call me and I will TALK to you.

I don't have a home phone, just an iPhone 4 that gets lots of use. There isn't Internet service where I live so I also use it as my hotspot for the laptop. I rarely turn on the laptop anymore just because it is a pain.

I have just a plain little old flip top made by Motorola. It is several years old, but I don't need anything else. Occasionally I use the camera feature. It has texting feature, but I don't use it, haven't learned how and don't intend to. My daughter just bought one from her BIL. He was going to trade it in, so she just bought it from him. It is one of those that you have to finger everything. Point your finger this way, that way, etc. It's almost like a miniature laptop! Don't think I could ever master that!

iPhone is the way to go you can do everything and anything on it... great pictures fast internet tons of apps... I use my phone 80% of the time.. We have an Ipad but the kids mostly play games wit it.. And i use a mac-book at home and my work computer...

I use an ordinary Motorola flip phone and I also carry an iPod. The ipod does everything a smart phone does except make phone calls and accurate gps. The ipod does not have a subcription fee or a data plan but you need to be in a wi-fi zone. Which in my daily life it is not that hard. I love using it in the tractor to listen to music or podcasts. If the battery goes dead I still have my phone.

My cell phone is a hand-crank model....TracFone. Sometimes I remember to take it with me......better half carries a Sprint- 200 minute plan, used 12 last month. Also charged 60 cents for 3 texts!

1970-1655, T-Mobiles, HTC, My-Touch first generation. Very happy with it!
Best coverage and service over everyone else!

I'm like you, just a cell phone,my two daughters and my son and wife are the only ones with my number..in my pocket for emergency use only..EMS and services for farm and rural living

Not being yet retired and running a small business I have an iPhone 5. I start in the office in the morning then out-and around all day. Business voice mails come to my phone as do emails. Just much easier and my personal phone too. I"m typing this on an iPad my wife gave me as a Christmas gift. It all fills the bill for me.

Mac Book Pro, iPad, iTouch, iPhone for now. The day I retire the phone will be the first to go. The rest of the "i"Stuff will fade to a memory as soon as the wear out and then I can get back to country living til the end. Amen

PS if I do need to do any calculations I still have and know how to use my bamboo Engineering Slide Rule

And Gordo I also have an app that I can start my gmc from anywhere with my iphone lock unlock it and see my dash readings. Don't really need this stufff but at 60 yrs old I still like toys and it makes me say wow

I also have an i phone 4, Gordo pretty well nailed it on the head. I use the thing all the time, it's like having the laptop in my hip pocket. Check my email, check the radar, check the weather forecast any time. Also comes in handy for checking up on ytmag on my lunch break.

I still use a flip style cell phone without email or texting. I like it that way. I can wait until I get home to check emails on my laptop. I am retired and nothing is that important anymore.

iphone 4s. Amazes me what I can do with it. Wherever I am and want to look up something i am usually able to do it. Don't do much texting but it is handy to do that sometimes. Check the weather a lot, get local fishing reports. Use the map feature, use the camera, can color match paint, can go to utube a lot of times and see videos on how to make repairs. i can compare prices on the same item at different stores. Recently I bought a hedge trimmer from Lowes . While standing there looking at it I checked TSC and they were cheaper. Called the store clerk over and took advantage of Lowe's meet and beat pricing and saved $ 30.00. That was enough to pay for my data plan for 2 months.

I use a cell phone and the original palm pilot, which consists of a sharpie and writing notes on my left palm. Every time I wash my hands, I'm reminded of what I need to do.

Got the cheapest Tracfone I could find. It's my 3rd phone. The first was finally so old that Tracfone couldn't put minutes on it anymore and the second got broken. 3 phones on 12 years or so and I didn't have $35.00 in all of them. Meanwhile my kids have gone through at least 2 dozen between the 2 oldest. Most they've bought. Mom bought a couple. I bought my SIL one after his got broken. It lasted 2 days before he broke it. He's been through at least 40 phones. Did I mention he's my soon to be ex- son in law?

I use iPhone 4 to check weather, news, check bank account, search for sale stuff on craigslist, text and email. I'm 58 years old and I bought my first desktop computer in 1993. It had a 133 MHz processor. They sure come a long way since then.
