keepin' the coffee hot

Who makes a good thermos that will keep coffee hot till mid afternoon? Got a new green Stanley, the kind all of us used to have, that thing has cold coffee by 10 AM. Noticed the new ones seem a lot lighter than the old ones...the old ones would burn your mouth 24 hours after you filled it. What works for you?

I always preheat mine while the coffe is brewing. Just fill with HOT water and let it sit. If I get in a hurry and don't preheat, I can tell by noon the coffee is getting cooler.

It"s working like it"s supposed to. It quickly heats or cools whatever is in it to body temperature so nobody can sue them for burning themselves. (Sorry, couldn"t resist.)

I recieved a new Stanley Green for Christmas in 2008. It never worked at all and coffee kept INSIDE the shop even got cold by 10:00 A.M. Called and complained and was sent a new one by simply giving them some # off the bottom. It was very light compared to the old one but works very well. Maybe, try another if they will send you a replacement.

You're right about the "old" Stanleys and the "new" Stanleys
— I've got an old one, keeps coffee hot for 24 hrs, kid at
work got a new one and coffee's cold in 2 hrs. Mine never
cools off, I put hot water in it whenever there's no coffee in
it...

Got mine 1983, got 83 stamped on bottom, didnt have handles made on it then, was a add on accessory with 2 black straps that kinda zip ties handle on it, 50% paint missing, but still works great!

Been using both of mine for several years. Silver/gray Stanley. John730d has it right, preheat, fill it and forget. Usually, its still warm enough to drink after riding around all day. Have found that the cup needs to be on the top to really hold the heat in. Not sure what that"s about.

You just be sure you keep that deadly stuff Yep O am talking coffee I can not drink it LOL As for what your looking for been decades since I have sen one that was made worth any thing. Years ago you would see them all the time and I think one brand was Stanley

I carry this one when I need coffee on the go. If I don't pour out the leftovers at night it is still warm when I pour it out the next morning. Not scalding hot, but still hot enough to be considere hot coffee, and that's 24 hours. Mine is also dented up, but still working good.
Thermos

buzz saw, Are you and still Pre-priming the temp on that Thermos with boiling water, and let stand for 15 to 20 minutes before you pour in your coffee? If Yes,.....You may very well may have a Bad one! If it is new, go exchange it and get another, you have nothing to loose.
I have 2 or 3 of them, Mine will keep coffee hot till I pour the first time! , then seem to loose temp somewhat rapidly
I Tend to think you have a bad one, It is possible.
Later,
John A.

I"ve got a Stanley thermos the old green one.
I preheat mine but I also perk my coffee on the stove. I don"t personally think the coffee makers make coffee hot enough. Plus you can perk your coffee to the strength you wish. My Dad also perked his coffee but then would put an ice cube in it to be able to drink it ?

like that, but you need to move to the new age, mine has a cord to plug in it :) got it a an estate sale, never been used, kinda felt bad when they said its so old its only worth $1. Gave them the buck and enjoy a good cup of coffee, take it with me when I travel.

A blonde is cruising Lowe's Xmas shopping. She picks up a thermos bottla and asks the clerk what is it. He tells her that it is a thermos bottle and will keep hot things hot or cold things cold. SHe buys it for herself.
The next day she has it and work and her friend asks her "What is thet" She tells her, "It's a thermos botlle, it keeps things hot or cold". So the friend asks, "what ya got inthere?" And the blonde replies, "Hot chocolate and a popsicle".

Find an old, glass, narrow mouth type at a Salvation Army store. Never use the "pour through" flip top cap. Get one piece cap.
I found a 16 oz Stanley that is great because that is all I ever want.

I bought a new stanley in 2010 and I filll ot at 7:00 am with hot coffee. AT night when I dump out whatever I didnt drink its still warmer than warm. Not hot but a real warm. I never preheat it either. I think there must be something wrong with yours.

I would say it is defective but if it's made in
china like everything else only one out of three
will work! I used to use Uno-vac but it seemed like
they would fail eventually and they would warranty
them. But I haven't seen them on the market for a
long time.

They don't work well after the vacuum between the inner bottle and the outer shell is lost. I'd return it.
