I've been a landlord for over 40 years. I finally had my first thermostat go bad on a 15 year old ref. Went on line to buy one. Some places wanted upwards of $85. Cheapest so far is around $45. Where they get you is the shipping and handling.
I think I'll store this ref and wait for a compressor on another ref to go bad, then use it's thermostat.
When you get to be my age, there aren't too many firsts to look forward to. Why a thermostat?
Here is the kicker, past summer I cleaned out my garage and got rid of two ref that had good thermostats. Guess you should never get rid of things. Don't know when you'll need it.
