And we wonder why> Went to wallly world today cause I need some cleaner bags. Went up the cookie isle and they were out of the whole grain fig newtons. Now the shelf price is $3.68. I next went over to Shop Rite and did my every few days pick stuff up shopping. The cookie isle had every fig newton BUT the whole grain ones! Crud. Now here is the kick to the whole story. The shelf price was $4.49 for the same product! No wonder wally world has taken over America! Jeffcat

Compare apples to apples.

Walmart often has cheaper prices, but it's for smaller packages or poorer quality product.

The Nabisco Fig Newtons you buy at Walmart are not the same Fig Newtons you get anywhere else. Either the package is smaller, or the cookie is smaller, or they have less filling, or they substituted cheaper ingredients.

I am glad to see so many that do not like shopping at Wal Mart.
Maybe I can find a parking spot within walking distance of the store now.

I like that reply. If I bought all my stuff in this little town I would have to work two more jobs to stay afloat. I will add also that the prices were crazy high before any Wal Mart store was withing 100 miles. I don't mind paying an extra buck for a ten dollar item but when it is two times higher it irritates me. And I mean same exact item.

I drive by "white trash-mart" everyday and refuse to stop there. I go to Meijer, Kroger, or a Spartan brand grocer. They all have a better selection and as good as or lower prices.

I like wally world because they don't use those information collecting cards. The information collected isn't for our benefit!
Maybe wally world isn't always the cheapest but they'll be close.

the chain and the padlock is not a bad idea, as long as you dont mind drilling a hole in the sheet metal and getting rusty.

Walmart tried to undersell K-Mart with the Tide product a few years back. They kind of strong armned Tide co to sell the product to them cheaper ,so they could undersell everyone else. I don't like their business practices. Never bought anything there.

It's surprising to see how many people have other store advertisements when they shop at local wally world

Check package size, seems every box is a different weight these days. And a half gallon ice cream isn't, pound of coffee not a pound ect

"Check package size, seems every box is a different weight these days."

Yup. Wally is known for getting the manufacturer to use the same size box but with less product in it. I suspect other items have lower quality controls.

We have them around but never go there. We go to either Kroger or Mijer, also a local store called Community Market once in a while depending on the Ad. Also do some at Aldie, hardly ever buy groceries at Wallmart

Sav-A-Lot is a lot cheaper then most stores like Krogers etc. We have a Gerbers in town and they are a Krogers store just with a different name on top but sell the same brand stuff I.E. Krogers brand. Brnad for brand Sav-A-Lot is a good bit cheap then the Gerbes is
