Anyone get new tools for Christmas?

Santa dumped off a ton of coal, so I purchased a battery conductance tester, Midtronics PBT300. Found a nice used JD Gator with a snow plow this morning on craigslist. Hope it's still there when I have time to pick it up 2 days after Christmas. Hope it's not another scam too.

I got a new 1/2 inch drill. Somone was standing next to me when I was complaining about the old one. Although I should just go buy a better chuck for the old one.

not sure yet.. not opened the pressies... but got my best friend a set of tape measures, welding gloves and a 48 ounce hammer... pretty sure they'll all get used at his place :)

Hand held belt sander, set of air chucks/ inflator/needles, etc, double set of low pressure - high volume spray painters, portable jump-start battery... Came out pretty good.

Most of the stuff I got the wife passed inspection - except the blue jeans she wanted I got the right size - she lost weight, am scrabbling to find the receipt.

yep. Wanted one of these for years.

No tools for me cause I don't need any, but I gave the son an air hose reel for his shop. Got him a commercial grade one so it 'should'last awhile. Jim

My son is manager at a Lowes, so he likes finding me what he thinks I need. I got a new type of ratchet that works in tight quarters because it will work by twisting the grip as well as by pulling. Then I got a pair of two of those new type pliers that are supposed to grip a lot better than regular. I also got a 20V DeWalt cordless drill and 1/4 impact driver, in one case. I'll see if that impact driver is worth anything. I would be interested to hear where one of those has helped anybody out in a situation.

Wife went out yesterday and gathered up 20 or 25 assorted tools I left laying here there and yonder and put them in a box with my name on it. Hey, I actually like it as now I can put them up easier. I love that woman.

Spent Christmas here at work in the West Indies, but my wife informed me that I got Blue Point 3/8" and 1/2" drive air drills, plus a bunch of Snap-On hats and t-shirts.

Little brother is a Snap-On dealer in Texas, so I get lots of goodies. Giving the hats and shirts to the guys I work with here in Trinidad when I come back in a month.

(quoted from post at 11:11:02 12/25/12) What new tools did anyone get for Christmas?

set of pliers, needlenose, diagonals
some Craftsman screwdrivers (relatives all shake their head and say "how many do you have now?" tell them "you can't have enough")
wire wheels for angle grinder
set of stubby gear wrenches
Vise grip clamps w/ swivel pads

Got a nice pair of Channel lock pliers. Don"t know if this counts as a tool, better half got me a Winchester safe. Really nice. Been meaning to get one for years now. She is the best...

I use an 18v 1/4 impact all the time sure beats a ratchet and I'm a diesel mechanic works with trailer doors and various other things pulling hose clamps and things off an engine plus if building something works great with lag bolts and the screws for steel

:D :D The Mrs. got me an inflatable lightweight life jacket for fishin' and one of those handheld inspection cameras with the 3 & 6ft probes. Screen is in color and the whole unit can take video or still pictures, has onboard memory and can be hooked to your TV or computer. Wish I would've had it two weeks ago when I was fighting to find those bolts on the top of that engine under all that Plenum ductwork.

Cheapie socket set from the in-laws, made in the land of not quite right. Got me nearly the same thing last year. I guess if I ever break one (OK, they will break at some point) I'll have plenty of spares. From a guy I used to work with who heard I got a new (to me) table saw at a sale, he got me a blade height gauge. Not something I would have thought to get for myself. All aluminum, American made, should last forever, probably handy as heck.

Sometimes when I'm a little goofy and make an obviously silly mistake I use the Johnny Carson line. "May my next Christmas gift be a dogbone wrench."
