Cable End with Threads - What to Call It?

I"ve got an Allis Model 78 side delivery rake that uses two steel lift cables, each with a clevis on one end and the other end crimped into a threaded stud. Both cables are frayed and broken, so would like to replace.

What do you call the threaded stud that would have an end open for crimping in a cable? I would imagine they are still available and not unique to the rake, just haven"t hit on the right name for searching.

Swaged cable studs. If you have a marina or boat dealer nearby who works on sailboats, they can probably fix you up. It takes a special tool to swage them.

They are widely used in Aircraft too , maybe check with a mechanic @ your local airport and see where he gets them ...

The fitting he describes is not Nicopress, although it might be possible to replace it using Nicopress and other hardware.

You could always run down to the hardware store, buy a eye bolt, and roll a farmers eye in your wire rope. They are real easy to do. Now a loggers splice is just a little harder to do.
