Ot my wife wanted a little 22 to take around here and practice with. Won't be used much I know so I saw a heritage arms for a reasonable price and it also comes with a cyl for mags. That I liked and couple hundred bucks wasnt bad price. In Illinois no alloys can be sold so all steel. Never had a heritage any thoughts. Fine looking little gun 3.5 inch barrel

That being said she would never practice enough to be
accurate just something to plink with. I do like the magnum cyl
though.

My wife and daughter love to shoot the Smith & Wesson 22 cal. model 63 with a 4"barrel and is double action. I have a friend that him and his wife have a heritage 22 and a Ruger bearcat 22. His wife likes the ruger over the heritage. It patterens better than the heritage.

ive been thinking about one of those also, but ive not seen one with adjustable sights here. back when i was a kid i had a old high standard flite king,,just so happens i ran accross one at the local gun shop. been slapping my own hands everytime i walk buy the case its in, (but it is christmas time). they have a nice old hd also,, i dont need it,I dont need it,i dont need it.....

Illinois lawmakers a few years back didn"t want any pistols in Chicago, but couldn"t legally do it--found a little "safety" measure dodge targeted at Raven and Davis , other pistol using precision zinc alloy casting methods, plastics and said no metal alloys with melting point about 500 degrees - just over casting temperature of zinc alloy used in Ravens and Davis .22,.25, .32 pistols, It wasn"t a "Gun Control" it was a "safety" feature to prevent a "Unsafe" -gun parts melt when fired-gun from being sold in the state. This also hit a couple Rohm Gevarfabrik revovlers with the light alloy frames, still left aluminum framed S&W chiefs specials used by a lot of police officers as their "offduty/backup/bodygaurd the politician" arm. Minor hassle for gunbuyers with moderate income, hassle some for the makers that would use a zinc alloy casting in some non stressed parts like grip frames or some plastics. RN.

The Rough Riders actually have a decent reputation, especially among our trapping community. A local gun dealer I knew had one and liked it a lot and he access to lots of other 22's. I'd say if she likes it, go for it. It might surprise you.

Thanks RN for the explanation, Illinois can be difficult for firearms or maybe I should say Chicago. Bought the little 22 between that and the ruger 10-22 she can plink all she likes and not break the bank. If the concealed carry goes through I"ll look for a smaller framed better quality revolver.
