Was plowing a field about 35 years ago and went under a limb that I had to left up to keep from hitting me.Had a open top tool box and after another round discovered that my brand new craftsman 4lb hammer was missing. Searched under the tree and never found. Everytime I was around that area I would lok. Friend let me borrow his metal detector to find a property line pin and when done I got to thinking about that hammer. After about 20 minutes of searching I found it. slightly rusted and no handle damage.
 
I had a hand crank for my Farmall cubs. I couldn"t find it for a year. After I had tilled my fields last spring, and a rain. I found it laying there in the field...
 
Had a shotgun I found that my cousin left in field. Don't know how long, but it took me couple of years to get it in firing condition. Returned it to him. Hope he still has it in SC. Dave
 
lost a log chain 20 some years ago off the tractor plowing and plowed it under well just last spring the guy that rents now found it funny how it could hide that good for so long
 
Couple years back, my son spotted a lug wrench for a JD B sticking up out of the ground while plowing. That wrench had to have been from my dad's 1947 JD that he got new just after he got home from the war. I can well remember that tractor, even as a very young kid. Never remember having that wrench - always used a hardware store open end/boxend wrench. Had to have been lost for over 50 years!
