Ideas for using galvanized pipe and fittings

I've got several 5 gallon buckets full of galvanized pipe fittings that I've saved or salvaged from jobs over the years. Probably 1/2 of them are either new or in good enough shape that I wouldn't hesitate to use them, as they have the advantage of being American made. I've also got several hundred feet of galvanized pipe---mainly 1" & 3/4". Fortunately, most of it is unused (and American made) because I wouldn't use used pipe for water supply. The trouble is, in the normal course of things, I'll never use even a small part of these supplies for plumbing. I've actually only done new installations with galvanized steel a couple of times in about forty years of remodeling.

Any suggestions about what to do with all this good quality but not very useful material? As scrap it's worth so little that I'd probably just toss it in the college's welding steel recycling bin if I was going to go that route. I sure would like to come up with something interesting and useful to do with it.

Sure wish I had it. Some of the fences near the barn need to be replaced and I have vowed to weld pipe for it.

It depends on what size the pipe is and what your needs are. If you decide to weld it, make sure you do so outside as the galvanizing coating produces a toxic fume.

hows about, barn door handles( two pipe flanges ,two ells, and three nipples).clothes hanging rods, small building frames, garden trellis, small animal pens, cap and a piece of pipe makes a good tamper for fence posts, pipe flange one ell and a couple of nippes makes a hook for heavy cords or water hoses, gate latches, makes a good lightweight gate if you weld it,deer hunting ladder stands, old disc and about a 3 1/2' pipe with a tee on top will make a fair temporary corral for horses if you run a rope through the tee, piece of pipe with a tee on top and a ring around it makes a good stake out place for animals, two posts either side of a water tank with a couple of holes drilled through each one and a pipe through them allows you to use one tank for two pastures, stall gates, piece down the top of your corrals will keep horses from chewing boards,1" makes a good dog kennel, lots of things you "could" do with it

I used old galvanized pipe and fittings when I installed air lines in shop, drop legs, bleeder valves.
