I set up a pump to fuel some small heaters and due to poor planning on my part the nozzle didn't fit the hole in the tanks!
It was the holiday weekend and I didn't have any luck finding an adapter to do the job.
Finally I got disgusted and pulled out some 35mm hex aluminum bar that I had and went to work.
A carbide blade on the table saw sliced off a 1 1/4" section and I set up the drill press with a 13/16" hole saw.
I removed the 'plug' and drilled and filed 'till I had the hole to 7/16".
I welded the plug into the end of the nozzle and after some filing and shaping it actually works!
I will never be mistaken for a real machinist I fear.
