Topic: Single Cylinder Air Compressor OIL???

I have a Single cylinder air compressor that is driven by a 5 horse motor. What kind of oil should i use in it when i change it. 30? non-degerent? |

| Tractor Supply sells a product that actually says air compressor oil on the bottle. It is though just 30w non-detergent motor oil. Detergent oils foam up in a compressor so a non-detergent oil is used. |

| I've used AC oil in the past but have found that Mobil one suits my needs better. Runs quite and starts in cold weather MUCH better. Several manufactures recommend M1 in place of reg compressor oil. |

| 20 or 30 wt non detergent is fine , that's all I've ever used . |

| There is in fact a special oil made just for compressors and that oil is what you should use. Most auto parts store will have it on hand |
