shop press needed

Given the cloice I would buy used Dake. I have purchased two from Yoder Machinery in Holland Ohio. We have a 25 and a 50. There are other good ones but Dakes are commonplace, good, amd cheap (after you beat the dealer down to earth). Offering half the asking is a good place to start, hint.

Google used machine tool dealers in your area with keyword "Dake shop press" or here is Yoders link if you are close.

It's not what you axed, but many folks make their own; made mine about 40 years ago from 6 inch channel and stuff scrounged from the scrap iron pile; have used everything from a 5 ton to a 40 ton hydraulic jack on it.

I am a cheap penny pincher. I bought the cheap Twain 50 ton press at least 20 years ago. It has done anything I needed it to do in my tool shop or for machine repair on machine repair in my molding factory as well as tractor repair. I some times use another 30 ton jack to hold parts in place and keep them from slipping to take advantage of the 50 ton press on odd typs of jobs. I pick it up with a fork truck and move it to where the job is if needed.
I have another 30 ton that I bought at about the same time that I use in the part testing area of audit that looks the same except smaller.

i have one of them foreign crap ones and it is 20+ years old and has never failed just a 20 ton with a hand jack but it will push like H use it a lot and would not be with out it. got it from harbor fright but they have made them lighter now but they still make a heavy one

I bought a used home made one for 10.00 at a sale several years ago.
It does everything I need done so far!!-- Has a 10 ton hydraulic jack.
Is totally adjustable
Make one your self -- ought to be plenty of plans around.
