Found a serial number chart on Miller's web site. It seems that the welder I just bought would have been made in July of 1984. Wow it sure looks newer than that. It never has seen much use.

So what did you end up getting it for? JE would be 1994 cause JA would be 1990. Not sure about the July as that could just be when a manual was printed. Looks like a really good deal, especially if you talked them down from $700.

I gave the $700. That included a bunch of tips, and an extra lead/gun(new never used, still in the plastic bag) Two rolls of wire. So all in all It was not a steal but a real good deal on a low usage welder.

Is the wire wrapped in plastic? If it's still in good shape and 44lb spools it's worth about $100 to replace. For that machine you got a good deal.

The wire is still shrink wrapped and clean/dry. I think it will work great for me. I just do not like the circuit boards and such the new welders have in them.
