2001 Husqvarna 350 Chainsaw !

I"ve had the 350 for about 10 years and have maybe used it 10 hours. I recently had to use it for the first time in a year and couldn"t get it started. I"ve done the routine maintenance stuff, but my problem now lies with the clutch cover. I made the mistake of removing it with the brake engaged. Now to put it back on, I need help figuring out how to deactivate the brake so it"ll slip back over the clutch. Thanks much, Craig

Thanks Sean, but the cover is already off. I somehow got it off with the brake engaged and now, of course, I don't know how to release the stainless loop so it'll slip over the clutch assembly. I see where the star wheel engages with the brake handle when it's assembled, but it's apart. Craig

Try positioning the handle so it engages with the star wheel when you put the clutch cover on, then you can release the chain brake. Or you can use a screwdriver or something to manually turn the star wheel back to release the brake.

about it not running, if you only rarely use it & you ran it last time with old gas, it might've ruined the cylinder & piston. The oil in old gas dissolves & no longer lubricates the engine & ruins it & will not start. For the chainbrake, the screwdriver trick of 55deere70 works for me.

Thanks Tom, it does leak a little gas. Is that a major job getting at it ?? I've never seen what is supposedly a quality product have more issues !! C

Take the plastic hand guard off 2 screws put yhe cover in the vice use the hand guard to unlock the chain brake reasemble.
