I'm looking to buy one to clean up BIG maple leaves from our driveway (gravel) and yard.Plan on towing it with a Cub swinging a Wood's mid mount mower. How well do these rigs work? What model's should we stay away from and which work pretty well? I saw Lou's engine issues on the Tractor talk page. What other issues have you come across? Lend me your advice folks! |

| | I was going to buy a used lawn vac from a guy who bought it off his neighbor who bought it new from TSC and used it only a few times. The guy selling it only used it a few times. After talking to him for a few minutes, he talked me out of buying it. He said the vac pipe would choke up if he tried picking up wet grass clippings. Then he said what fun he had unloading the wagon. So I really can't say what to buy. I found the one I was going to buy on craigslist for less than half what a new one sells for. As for leafs, I mulch mine with a mower. Usually do it 3 times in the fall. All my leafs have fallen from the maple trees. Did my 3rd mulching today. Will most likely do it another time after Thanksgiving when my neighbors leafs find there way in to my yard |

| | There is old brands that are real good: Yard Vac, Parker, and Yard King. The Ag fab units are a cheaper unit but they do work and if you are a careful user I am not sure you would need more. I have a friend that has a DR brand leaf vac and he likes it. My Dad has a Yard Vac brand. He has had it for 20-30 years and it was used then. He has made several different deck spouts and has extra hose and fittings to fit it on different mowers. He has several old lawn mowers he mows with and it seems that he never can keep the one he starts with going through the whole fall season. He does use his on just grass clipping in the spring too. So the better ones are not just for leaves. |

| Like I said on Lou's post, I had the Agri-Fab with theB/S engine like his. It has worked flawlessly for 17 years |

| Jeez scottwv, sorry I offended you, and ONE post would have been enough. All I meant to say was I wouldn't spend $1000 on a vac with a B&S engine. Those engines on a vac run wide open all the time and the NEW Briggs will rarely hold up. |

| Haven't looked at 'em too close, could never afford one, but, I don't think i'd get one with a B&S engine on it! |
