Neon Spark testers

A couple years ago I was the sub for the small engine class for a few weeks. The instrctor had a neon spark tester that worked well with the kids. I wanted to buy one and it was NLA. Now I need to help again with a small engine power class. So I am looking again. Anybody know of a good one? Small engines are not my thing but if any of you that know of other little small engine tools that would work well with teaching high school and maybe College students fundamental small engines (all brands used on hort equipment) let me know. Thanks in advance. J.

I used to carry one, shaped like a ball point pen (also had a clip for your shirt pocket), A-C Delco brand I think. Inductive pickup. Could be purchased at most auto supply stores.

This may or may not help but when I was in high school the auto. shop teacher had a number of mock ups of different parts of an engine some of which had moving parts which demonstrated how things worked. Some examples are the valve train, a magneto with crank to demonstrate ignition. I think he had a distributor set up which again was a movable model which you could actually see the spark plugs firing in order. He also had a few cutaways of different engine parts and pieces, again some of them movable so you could see how the 4 stroke cycle works, many of the parts painted in contrasting colors so you could identify them. B&S engines lend themselves well to this and they are plentiful.
Probably a bit time consuming and maybe more work than you want to do if you're only doing this part time or subbing but the mock ups made it very easy to learn when you could see inside.

I can't be without my Snap-On MT2700 KV probe when working on small engines. They quite making them I think but you can get them on ebay reasonable.

I can borrow a cut a-way small engine. When I was in high school in the late 50's we made a cut-a-way out of an F-12 engine. I appreciate your time. The F-12 engine was still around a few years ago.
