Is there a differance between shell rotel 15w40 and mobil delvac 15w40. Have always used rotel in my 7.3 ford but the mobil is a good price right now and I havn't changed yet. Don't put many miles on a year(2500), but change every fall. |

| | If the Delvac is the same as Esso/Exxon XD3... then you won't find a better oil as fas as I'm concerned. I don't think you're really going to find much of a change one way or the other myself. Rod |

| I was looking at Shell, when it was on sale, but the fine print on the jug said, "Filled for Shell, by Pennzoil"...No Thanks! When I was rebuilding engines, you could always tell a Pennzoil engine because it had a grey waxy sludge inside! |

| Pennzoil bought Quaker State and was bought out by Shell. All one company now. |

| Hello Rustryone, I have converted (NOT MY TRUCK)from Rotella T to the Mobil 15W40 delvac and found the change to do two things. Better oil controll, and more oil pressure. Guido. |

| I don't think it really matters. As long as it's a decent quality oil it should be fine. I've been using Rotella in the diesels, but wouldn't hesitate to switch to something else. |

| I switch back and forth all the time, even mix them between changes. No problems with 10,000 mile oil changes in my semi. |

| I have used both, and use the Delvac now. The 4020 was using a lot of Rotella, and seems to use less Delvac, but could be a fluke. |

| Hello David G, Not a fluke! The 15w40 Mobil oil seems much better at controlling oil consumption, with better oil pressure as well. Guido. |
