Picked up a wheel today that is 16" x 7 wide that has a bolt pattern of 5 holes on a 6.5" circle. What would this wheel be used for ? Thanks.

I sold thousands of wheels when I had my repair shop. 5 bolts were used on lots of equipment as well as 4, 5, 6, 8 lugs. It may have been on a dick, planter etc. its not unusal at all,

Man, what a difference one little letter can make.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Whole lot of cars had 5-bolt, whole lot of implements do/did too - was that the 6 ton spec? There are different spacing and center hole patterns, got to see what it matches up to. Coulda been on anything.

Large diameter 5 bolt 7x16? Look to early Dodge, Ford, IHC 1 ton truck or Military 4x4, 6x4, 6x6. The large diameter circle for a 4 wheel drive front hub or early combined brakedrum with lugs toward outer rim- think 9N Ford front wheel that was copied from truck hub wheel. Implement wheels often taken from widely avalable truck, car wheels in use at time if no special needs on implement- as in a clearance problem with a prior design jig. 7x16 wheel would use old bias ply 8.5/9/9.50 x16 tire, roughly 1-3 ton standard. A tire shop probably would have the older vehicle wheel specs listed. RN.
